Ryobi 18V One+ Wet/Dry Canister Vac P3200

This vacuum is impressive in size and capacity. It's nothing like Ryobi's mostly useless Dustbuster-style vacuum that's commonly available with their combo kits. It's not up to par with a plug-in Shop Vac, but it's certainly quicker to use and more portable. It's great for quick car clean-ups and smaller jobs around the house. The vac comes with an attachment storage "skirt" that straps around the black tank, and has loops to hold all the included attachments plus a few more. The black portion of the vac is the dirt holding tank. It holds more than any one battery will last, at least for the typical dirt and animal hair I'm sucking up. It's difficult to empty because (1) the attachment-holding "skirt" needs to be removed and (2) the big opening at the top of the holding tank has a bit of a lip that tends to retain a good amount of dirt (it's not a smooth edge as if you were pouring dirt out of a bucket) -- you'll need to either shake the tank violently, or remove the rubber plug from a side compartment, to get out all the leftover dust.As another reviewer pointed out, the grey Li-Ion Ryobi batteries work, but their casing is slightly different compared to the black NiCad batteries and have an extra point that interferes with smoothly inserting into the vac. A forceful push, however, and they seat securely. The vac comes with a handful of attachments such as crevice, carper, brush and water tools. The hose is approximately 3 feet long and suitable for something…

Shop-Vac 2860010 6.5-Peak HP Industrial BackPack Vacuum

I love this shop Vac. The only thing that I didn't like was when it gets full it will start sending your dust everywhere and your back starts to get warm. It is fairly light on the back, sucks great, and does well with a palm sander hooked to the end. Just be careful because the bags are hard to find and you cannot use it for water clean up. This is a dust only model. Great for around the house cleaning hard to reach areas and hard wood flooring. The brush head attachment allows you to pick up numerous items on hard wood and tile.

Dustless Technologies MU405 Cougar Ash Vacuum, Black

What a disappointment. It works extremely well in removing the ash from an ash tray. Does a superb job. Try it in a woodstove, however, and the hose clogs in about three seconds - not even counting the chunks which clog the entrance to the nozzle, which is waaay too narrow to be useful. Even a modest quantity of cool powdered ash chokes the hose requiring disconnect and clearing of the plug. Sorry to say, it does not begin to do the job. It might work if the hose diameter were doubled.

Nomad Power Cleaner Orange

Overall: Runs well, it's the only product of it's kind, holds enough water for about ten min of cleaning at a time, battery powers through all of it. It will accept and run on Ryobi 18v P100 Nicd Battery 2-pack which is a HUGE plus for me as I have a lot of Ryobi 18V equipment already. I bought it for the boat, but so far I've only cleaned my bath tub and deck furniture... it works great for soap scum, but don't blast out the caulking around the edges.Pros:-- accepts Ryobi ONE+ 18V batteries-- tank can be removed for easy filling, don't have to lug the pump apparatus everywhere if using multiple tanks.-- built-in filter for filling up from lake or stream (haven't tried this yet)-- self-contained, built-in storage for hose/nozzle/extra battery-- 18V battery power AND 12V car adapter included-- manual has a good directions for clearing an air lock from the pump, and winterizing with RV antifreeze, etc, which is pretty comprehensive IMO-- someone else commented they lost pressure after the first tank and never got it back... I followed directions for clearing an air lock and priming, and the washer was back to full power!Cons:-- I had to open the manual

Ridgid WD4522 4.5 Gallon Pro Pack Portable Wet/Dry Vacuum

This thing really sucks! More powerful than the Shop-Vac it replaced. The shape is nice, and having everything on board is great. I would like a cord reel, and it would be great if the doors that hold the cord, accessories, etc. would stay open, but those are minor annoyances. The new version is round and has wheels, and I'm honestly not sure whether I would prefer its shape to this box shape. This is a great vacuum.

Shop-Vac 4050010 Shop Sweep Indoor/Outdoor Vacuum

9 of 11 people found the following review helpful 5.0 out of 5 starsShop Vac Sweeper, April 24, 2008 By Dr. Robert L. Kemper (Haverhill, MA USA) - See all my reviews(REAL NAME)  I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with this sweeper. I use it to vacuum the patio and driveway. It cleans up the debris with little difficulty, and the bag is easy to detach and empty. One minor complaint is that, if the bag is full, the kick stand which holds the vacuum in an upright position doesn't function correctly, and the vacuum may topple over. Other than that, this device works quite well.

DEWALT DC515K 1/2 Gallon 18-Volt NiCd Cordless Wet/Dry Vac

Dustbuster that runs on my 18V batteries....hard to beat for convenience. Good battery life and pretty good suction, but it is LOUD with a really high pitched sound that buzzes in your ears. It comes with one XRP 18V battery which is about $60 so the cost of the vac is $70 or so. Was great to use in my attic rather than dragging out the big shop vac. I tried and returned the 2 gallon vac. This one has about the same suction and is cheaper and smaller. Hose detaches for cleaning in corners etc. Other than the noise...I love it.

Vacmaster VWM510 Wall Mount Wet/Dry Vacuum Powered by Industrial 2-Stage Motor with Remote Control, 5 Gallon, 5 Peak HP

I did a lot of research and saw a lot of unhappy reviewers who had purchased the Hoover and Bissel models. This unit was exactly what I was expecting and was cheaper then both of the other units. I wanted something for vacuuming out the cars and keeping garage dirt from being tracked into the house. It does exactly that. The manual does state that it shouldn't be used for fine powder (like drywall dust) without purchasing a separate filter.Mounting to the wall was easy and took less than 10 minutes.Nice unit - so far, so good!. If it keeps performing I will buy a second one to put in the basement.

Ridgid WD4070 4 Gallon Portable Vacuum

I have owned numerous shop vacs over the years and the WD4070 was appealing in that it offers small size without sacrificing power. However, I cannot recommend this vacuum due to other significant drawbacks. The inside of the canister has surprisingly little space to accumulate debris. The motor and filter consume the majority of the canister space. Seeing how the filter would just sit in all the debris, I decided to purchase and install the bags. My first clean up job was my garage floor. The floor had small dried leaves, road soot, and paper scraps to be cleaned up. The initial suction was quite impressive. I could place the nozzle on a small dried leaf and it had enough power to suck in the leaf and break it up. However, after 25 minutes of use, the suction power was diminished. I would place the nozzle on a leaf, and it would pick it up, but it no longer had enough suction to break it up and suck it down the pipe. The problem is that, even when properly installed, the bag causes a clog where the hose enters the canister. There was no single large item causing the clog, just a bunch of crumbled leaves and soot. On its own, the vacuum can't move the debris from the opening of the bag towards the rear of the bag. It also uses only the right side of the bag, not the left. I manually cleared the opening and forced the debris to the rear of the bag. After 10 more minutes of vacuuming, focusing on only smaller debris, it clogged again. Another drawback is opening the canister shell.…

Shop-Vac 5840500 5-Gallon 2.0-Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum

Also called the quiet model. And it is much quieter than the 5 gal 1.5 HP Shopvac that I also have. And I enjoy the quieter model except for one thing. It chokes on anything larger than a dime. True. Using it in my wood shop it does sawdust just fine. But ingest a chip of wood larger than a dime and never mind. Clean out the hose. Now the loud 1.5 HP Shopvac has much more suction and hardly ever chokes. If it can get it in the tube it swallows it whole. I now use the older, louder model in the shop.

Milwaukee 0880-20 18-Volt Cordless Wet/Dry Vacuum

This is a great portable vacuum. My problem is that it was described as having "a long continuous run time." That time is actually, according to both Milwaukee (personal communication) and personal experience, about 11 minutes on a fully charged 18V battery. That was less than I expected and will necessitate buying a second battery. This vacuum with two batteries at $51.18 each becomes a pretty expensive proposition. I can recommend this vacuum only if you are already invested in Milwaukee portable tools and 18-volt lithium ion batteries. One saving grace is that if you don't anticipate using the vacuum very long at any given time, the batteries do have a short recharge time, so one battery might be sufficient.

Hoover L2310 GUV 10 Amp 5-Gallon Garage Utility Vacuum

A great purchase!!!! I have a dog in the garage and this vacuum is perfect for cleaning up quickly. I thought that a "garage vacuum" would be your typical...big, bulky, and loud. Just the opposite! This thing is quiet enough to vacuum at 2:00 in the morning....I would definitely recommend this to anyone. (I am even going to buy one for my dad!) And the price.....wow!!!! Cheapest I found anywhere.

Milwaukee 0780-20 28-Volt Cordless Wet/Dry Vacuum

First, it should be obvious that this is a bare tool. The batteries/charger cost more than the unit. Therefore, it is good if you have other V28 tools.Next, somewhere someone commented that this is as powerful as a corded vac. It is not. A normal shop vac is around 1000W to 1500W, and it is unrealistic to expect this little portable guy with a 1-1/4" hose to have the same power. It just isn't as powerful. But, it has a very usable power for my intended purpose, which is to say, it has enough power to clean up a small "mess" without having to lug out a real vac. I find I'm also using it for a surprising amount of small around the house/in the car cleaning/dusting since it is so conveniently portable. The cordless portability is the reason to buy.A major compromise between power and battery life is that the battery (a big V28 mind you) only lasts maybe 5 minutes. This is enough for a small project clean-up, but don't expect it to clean up your shop. On the plus side, it uses 1-1/4" accessories which concentrate the available suction well and which are also the standard size for home vacuum cleaners. This item does not come with a dust brush attachment which I considered a necessity, but luckily I just bought one for a regular home vac.The hose is VERY flexible which is nice. It accordians down to a small U-shaped unit which fits into a holder on the side when not in use. If I get a chance, I'll post a pic since this was one of my questions when purchasing it.…
